First LG G7 Benchmark Leaks Some Underwhelming Specs
Apr 25, 2018

The LG G7 ThinQ has already been certified in Korea under the codename LGE GM-710, and that internal number has popped up in the cross-platform Geekbench database, carrying some revelations that confirm the specs rumors.

First off, the phone is indeed going to be powered by Qualcomm's latest and greatest Snapdragon 845 chipset, which means up to 2.8 GHz clock speeds, up to 1.2 Gbps LTE Cat. 18 download speeds, and 4K video recording at 60fps are all supported.

The system has clocked pretty high single- and multi-core scores that are in line with the top Galaxy S9 results, as both carry the same computing power. Apple's newest A11 processor clocks much higher results, especially at multi-core tests, but seemingly at higher average clock speeds, so Snapdragon 845 in the G7 will be plenty powerful for everyone's tastes.

The ho-hum part in the leaked specs, however, is the RAM amount. It is listed as 4GB, while previous rumors pointed to 6GB, and there are even 8GB RAM flagships out there. If history is any indications, LG could out a G7 version with more RAM and storage, but that one will cost you extra in an era of already record average high-end phone prices.
